Topic: Advocacy Skills for Better Collaboration and Empowerment
How comfortable are you advocating for yourself, your values or your opinions? As a leader, being able to assert yourself is an essential skill, but many people are uncomfortable doing so, especially when in a lesser position of power.
There is a clear distinction between assertive and aggressive communication, but many people do not know how to be assertive or to advocate for their ideas in a way that doesn’t become aggressive.
In this session, I will share with you
- The difference between assertive and aggressive advocacy
- Why people struggle to advocate for themselves
- How to be more assertive and advocate effectively
- How to coach your team members to be more assertive
- How to deal with aggression from others
