Leadership Roundtables

Friday, February 10, 2017  11:30 – 1 pm

Topic:  Advocacy Skills for Better Collaboration and Empowerment

How comfortable are you advocating for yourself, your values or your opinions?  As a leader, being able to assert yourself is an essential skill, but many people are uncomfortable doing so, especially when in a lesser position of power.

There is a clear distinction between assertive and aggressive communication, but many people do not know how to be assertive or to advocate for their ideas in a way that doesn’t become aggressive.

In this session, I will share with you

  • The difference between assertive and aggressive advocacy
  • Why people struggle to advocate for themselves
  • How to be more assertive and advocate effectively
  • How to coach your team members to be more assertive
  • How to deal with aggression from others

Leadership Roundtable events are free, but require a reservation to attend.  Email me at shelly@techlivelihood.com to reserve a space.  If you would like to bring a colleague, please let me know in your RSVP.

The venue is Flatz Restaurant in the Renaissance Boulder Flatiron Hotel, 500 Flatiron Blvd, Broomfield.

Attendees may purchase lunch at their own expense.
